Spring Window Display 2006

This window was dedicated to the people of New Orleans about six months after the devastating Hurricane Katrina. With the sentiment: "May your lights once again burn brightly", we went over the top with bright colors, lights and the WOW factor! We created black fome core buildings with photos of the area, hand stamped them with metallic iron-on foil, and then used an awl to stick brightly colored christmas lights in from behind. Revelers, a vintage style "light post" to which we added a Bourbon Street sign, Many of feathered masks, and Mardi Gras beads set the mood!

Spring Window Display 2008

The inspiration for this window was hundreds of pairs of green and green and white gingham gardening gloves. I lightly stuffed them then stood them upright on the cuffs to create a wavy field of spring "grass".

Spring Window Display 2009

We spray painted and reused the mannequin heads from the Winter 2008 window and spent a month of weekends and evenings curling thousands of green pipe cleaners into "springs". We also made "spring bouquets, and hair for the figures from the coiled chenille. In March 2013 we discovered my spring 2009 window was listed on a blog of "11 examples of good spring window designs" and Gardiner Design is honored to be featured alongside window designers for Hermes, Anthropologie, and Macy's, to name a few :-)

Bunnies everywhere! Just like real life, but with glasses... They must have forgotten the carrots!

Spring Window Display 2011

April showers created with metallic and opalescent curling ribbon gentally trickle down onto spring plants and birds in bird cages, and bird baths.

Spring Window Display 2012

Hens (okay actually a rooster from a past Fall window), chicks and a 100 egg crates, a few dozen artifical eggs made up this spring window, I added to text to some of the crates: "Dr. Arinella is Grade A" and "The Opticians at Premier Optical are a bunch of good eggs"

A swarm of butterflies head across the window... most of them started out as children's party favor "fairy wings" from the dollar store!
